To fight disinformation during the electoral campaign, we promoted the 3rd edition of the most ambitious collaborative journalistic project in the country, with the participation of media from all over Argentina (print, digital, radio and TV).

In order to further consolidate the regional network of checkers and build together knowledge and actions against disinformation, we promoted an analysis and research agenda among LatamChequea members that included, among others, gender issues in the ICFJ Disarming Disinformation project. In addition, new organizations joined the network.

Third National Meeting of MIL: education and digital gap in times of disinformation
In order to share work strategies on Media and Information Literacy y and critical thinking in the classroom, we organized the Third National Meeting for teachers and members of the educational community within the framework of the AMI World Week.
To increase the impact of the collaborative project, coordinated by Chequeado and Maldita, to fight disinformation in Spanish that affects Latino communities in the U.S.:

We won NYU's AI & Local Challenge to develop a tool to improve our detection of disinformation narratives.

We renewed the support of the Google News Initiative (GNI) to produce text, audio and video content.

We received an institutional grant from the Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) to produce a bilingual guide for journalists.

We started a project with TikTok to produce videos in Spanish on the platform

We with the support of the Open Society Foundation (OSF) to partner with organizations to produce and distribute visual pieces to counteract misinformation narratives about the voting system and the electoral process in the run-up to 2024.
