We reached more people than ever. We challenged ourselves and went out to the streets to play games, and kept on using innovative formats as the GIFs we produce in collaboration with UNO. Developments as ‘You and how many more?’ allowed us to reach new audiences so everyone could know more facts about our reality in a simples way.
Chequeado Investigación, our investigative journalism initiative, had an open call for proposals and a deluxe co-director and mentor, Hugo Alconada Mon, to accompany renowned journalists in the production of investigative reports on the most relevant issues in the current agenda, that usually get little coverage.
We trained more than 3,000 people from all around the continent that took part of the first MOOC on Fact-checking in spanish.
The Chequeador, our e-learning platform, was adapted and it is now used both in Chequeado+ and our courses for journalists and students.

At Chequeado we do journalism so that people can better understand what is happening and why some issues are relevant. We explain them and give context every time we notice that it is necessary for the debate.
Thus, this year, we detailed the paths of a criminal case, put large numbers in perspective with La Balanza and again, we evaluated the fulfillment of the President's campaign promises.
We know that technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) can simplify journalists' work, and far from scaring us, we want them to help us become better checkers and complement our work. Our Chequeabot already searches and finds checkable phrases in media across the country, and directly assists the team to fact-check more in less time.
We were distinguished by Perfil with the National Award for Freedom of Expression, the FOPEA Award for Digital Media Research and highlighted by the Konex Foundation as one of the five digital initiatives of the decade. Our GIFs came second in the TruthBuzz challenge and the project Chequeado+ was regional finalist in the competition Mentes Transformadoras. In addition, the special issue we did with La Nación for the live fact-checking of President Macri's speech won a gold medal in the ÑH awards, that highlight the best of design in journalism in Latin America.
In a context in which funding diversification is even more important, we keep on pursuing this goal in order to be able to grow and work in an autonomous and sustainable way.
We were regularly featured at the following media outlets and were invited to the some of the most relevant TV programs: :
